Fireweed Watch, August 27

The fireweed is starting to rust, and we’ve been invaded by mushrooms.

And wild cranberries.

The heads on these are the size of bread plates.

Last year, I only saw one mushroom on the property and it was a tiny brown thing. But this year we have so much more firewood and have gotten so much more rain, the mushrooms are popping up everywhere. I tried to capture the prettier ones.

I hope they aren’t poisonous for the local wildlife’s sake.
